Common Projects is a sneaker company that makes clean, minimal leather shoes favored by design professionals.  Peter Poopat and Flavio Girolami started the company in NYC in the mid-1990's, as outlined by the NY Times in a recent piece.

The shoes are made in Italy and age beautifully over time, molding to the contours of the wearer's foot.  Each shoe is stamped with a serial number indicating the color number, style number, and size of the particular pair.
